Standard ANSI Standard Designs


Victor manufacturers three classes of pin type insulators. Low voltage pin types are manufactured and tested to the requirements of ANSI Standard C29.5, high voltage pin types to ANSI Standard C29.6, and special designs for use in areas of high contamination.

All Victor Pin Types are RUS accepted where a specific RUS classification exists.

Standard color is sky gray, with chocolate or white available upon request. Standard products are radio free treatment (exception Cat. No. 35 fog bowl).

Low Voltage Pin Types (ANSI Class 55-2 – Class 55-6)

These insulators are all single piece designs with porcelain threads, a design which years of field experience has proven to be the best. Victor Insulators lead the way in developing and introducing this design concept to the marketplace.

Catalog numbers with suffix R are radio freed. For non radio freed (plain) insulators omit the suffix R from the catalog number.

High Leakage and Fog Bowl Pin Types (Special Designs)

These insulators have been designed by Victor to meet specific customer application needs in areas of extreme service conditions due to contamination. Fog Bowl designs offer high protected leakage areas.

While no ANSI Standards exist for these products Victor manufactures and tests each of these insulators to meet the general requirements of ANSI Standards C29.1 and C29.5 to ensure quality and a lifetime of trouble free service.

Due to the unusual service conditions that these insulators experience, typical application voltages are not given. The factory should be consulted to determine the appropriate insulator for use in a given application.

All insulators are designed with standard neck dimensions so that pre formed (wrap lock) ties may be used.

Mounting Studs

Mounting studs are available at an additional cost. Victor Insulators ‘ studs can be used with all other manufacturers’ line posts that meet ANSI standards.

CLAMPS Victor Insulators yoke design will accept other manufacturers’ clamps with a standard nominal 4″ trunnion. Conductor clamps have been designed with reversible keepers, so that three designs of clamps will accommodate conductors ranging from .25″ to 1.5″ in diameter. Victor Insulators’ clamps will fit any 4″ spaced yoke of either vertical or horizontal design.
